Dear
colleagues,
Now
that the conference is over we would like to thank you all for
attending and we hope that you enjoyed it: for us it was a pleasure
to organize it and to have all of you here in Munich.
We hope to see you again at other occasions, e.g. at the next
ICEHL in Pecs.
Concerning the Conference Proceedings, you can find the details
for your submission and the production schedule on the ICEHL website
under "publication
proceedings". We are looking forward to reading your
papers.
All the best
Hans Sauer, Zora Gnaedig, Ursula Lenker, and the team

Dear
colleagues,
The
excursion to Burghausen is almost full: there is just one seat
available.
There
are places available on the trips to Andechs and Nymphenburg (A),
and six places for the visit of the "Pinakothek der Moderne".
Then,
places are still available for Saturday for Nymphenburg (B) and
to the excursion to Salzburg.
All
the best and see you soon,
Hans
Sauer, Ursula Lenker and the organizing committee

this is allright with you; otherwise please let us know.

Organ
recital
(Sunday 17.00 -- 17.40)
Locals say that a trip to Munich without visiting one of the numerous
churches all over the city is not a real trip to Munich. So we
suggest you start your days at Munich with visiting the University
Church of St. Ludwig (right across the street from the conference
venue). St. Ludwig has one of the most wonderful organs in the
whole city of Munich. After a short guided tour of the church,
there will be an about 30-minute organ recital, mainly with music
of German and especially Bavarian composers such as Bach, Josef
Rheinberger and Max Reger and others. Organist: Michael
Burghart. Cost: free.

We
have accepted six workshops so far, namely (1) "Speech, Text
and Discourse"; (2) "Information Structure and Syntactic
Change"; (3) "Late Modern English Dialect Lexicology";
(4) "Problems in the Historical Phonology of English";
(5) "The Lexis of Cloth and Clothing"; (6) "Current
Methods in Historical Semantics". In order to achieve a balance
between session papers and workshops, we shall now wait until
the session papers have been proposed and accepted before we admit
any more workshops. We would like to point out, however, that
you can also propose thematically coherent sessions of three or
four papers, which will be considered as a whole.
All the best and see you in August 2008,
Hans Sauer and the organizing team |
